Red Cross Youth Challenge 2011 – Camp Unity

In line with MOE’s vision to provide a challenging environment for our youth leaders of tomorrow, we are pleased to invite your school unit to nominate 4-6 cadets to participate in the upcoming Red Cross Youth (RCY) Challenge 2011. RCY Challenge 2011 aims to create a platform for experiential learning and leadership development, and to allow participants to challenge themselves beyond their limits!

This year, the RCY Challenge will allow participants to challenge their personal limits and opportunities for new friendships and discoveries from the range of activities offered. Besides having activities to Pulau Ubin and water activities at Kallang, we would also be having a night heritage trail will be conducted for the first-time and inter-division games will allow respective divisions to plot their wits against each other. Most importantly, retaining the motto “U n I, the Youth of Red Cross”, this camp hope to inculcate values such as team work, resilience and communication among our youth.

The event consists of 1 Contact Session, and a 4 Days 3 Nights overnight camp.

The details and requirements of the camp are as follows:

Contact Session 1
Date : 03 December 2011 (Saturday)
Time : 0900h – 1300h
Venue : Red Cross Campsite
Attire : Mufti
(Red Cross T-shirt with Track Pants, Socks and Covered Shoes)

4 Day- 3 Night Camp
Date : 15 – 18 December 2011 (Thursday to Sunday)
Reporting Time : 9am on 17 December 2010 (at Red Cross Campsite)
Dismissal Time : 4pm on 20 December 2010 (at Red Cross Campsite)
Venue : Red Cross Campsite, 62 Jalan Khairuddin S(457524)
(Further administrative details such as Packing List will be given out on Contact Session)

Requirements:
1. Must be physically and medically fit
2. Preferably able to swim for at least 50m

No. of Participants:
Maximum 10 x Secondary 2 / 3 cadets per unit (include Unit Leader)

Please note that there would also be a camp fee of $40.00 to defray the cost of meals and activities. Payment can be made via cheque or e-invoice, payable to “Singapore Red Cross Society” before 11th November 2011, Friday. Upon confirmation of participation, participants are also required to submit the original copy of the Camp Application Form (Form E) by the same deadline.
