World First Aid Day Celebrations at the plaza, National Library (11 Sept 2010)

World First Aid Day (WFAD) is celebrated globally by the national societies of the Red Cross movement to raise public awareness about the importance of first aid and to increase communities’ understanding of the positive implications of first aid in day-to-day life as well as in emergencies. This year, WFAD falls on 12 September 2010. The theme of this year’s celebrations is “First Aid Begins @ Home”.

Date: Saturday, 11 September 2010.
Event Highlights:
1. Series of talks on First Aid along with CPR demonstrations
2. First Aid information and exhibition booth (for the general public to learn more about First Aid)
3. Carnival style activities like games booths and puppet shows (catered for both the young and older generations)
4. Shop@RedCross would be setting up a booth to sell stuffed toys (all proceeds go to the Society)
5. Mega family First Aid treasure hunt

There would be a total of 2 sessions on that day.
The timings and event descriptions for each session are as follows:
Session 1 (11.30am to 1.00pm) - carnival style, activities, games and exhibition
Session 2 (1.00pm to 3.30pm) - on-stage puppet show, skit, talks, video, competition

We strongly encourage RCY cadets and officers to join in the celebration with their friends and family.
