South District Standard First Aid Course (Pilot Programme)

The Red Cross Youth Division will be organizing one 3-day certified Standard First Aid Course (Pilot Programme) from 15th to 17th March 2010 for RCY cadet members in the South District.

The objectives of this programme are as follows:
· Create the awareness of First Aid to cadets
· Provide interest in learning first aid
· Reach the financial aid to the need student
· Increase knowledge and volunteer service in learning first aid

The SFA Course is a certified 3 full day course which includes module theories 1 – 6, use of triangular and roller bandages and an update on CPR (layman). At the end of the course, participants are required to sit for theory and practical assessment. Upon successful completing the theory and assessment, the participant able to perform first aid independent in their competence level. This certificate is valid for 3 year and is renewable if they has continue take up refresher course.

Eligibility
Students who are 14 years of age and above as well as have the willingness to learn more about First Aid are strongly encouraged to participate for this event.

Administration Fee
S$15.00 ( for the purchase of the Course Handbook and Printouts, Face Shield, Roller Bandage, Triangular Bandage)
Members whom are able to bring their own triangular and roller bandaging, they would only be required to pay S$10.00.

Attire : Mufti – Red Cross Shirt w/ Track pants
