PROJECT R.I.C.E. 2010

In collaboration with the Red Cross Humanitarian Network (RCHN) Division, the Red Cross Youth (RCY) Division is embarking on the third annual Project R.I.C.E which would be taking place in the first Quarter of 2010.

The overall objective of this project is to raise awareness of the plight of the needy and to bring about a greater impact to our community.

R.I.C.E refers to the following:
Reach out to the needy
Instill the spirit of volunteerism in our youths
Champion the cause of the needy
Ensurethe long-term sustainability of this rice project

Red Cross Youth is confident, with schools' continuous support; this event would be a success and we are able to bring even more joy and love to the lives of the beneficiaries during the Lunar New Year festive season.

Fairfield RCY is suporting the event through internal collection which requires your help in the following:
Internal Collection (for Cadet Units)
Internal Collection Period: 18th Jan - 4th Feb 2010
Collection Date: 5th Feb 2010 (Fri)
Involvement:
(1) Appeal to school community on the donation of minimum of 1kg sealed packet rice per student/staff of school community.

* (Our unit is targetting at the donation of 1 packet of 1kg rice every 2 cadets)
(2) Cadets would assist Youth Officers in the collection and storing of the 1kg sealed packet rice during the Internal Collection Period.
(3) The Organizing Committee will make arrangements for the pick up of the donated rice packets on 5th Feb 2010 from participating schools.
